If BMW already offers a wide range of electric cars in its catalog, then the German firm is obviously not going to rest on its laurels. And it is not for nothing that we remember that Brussels wants to ban the sale of thermal cars throughout Europe from 2035. Therefore, the manufacturer should continue its efforts to electrify the entire model range. For this, BMW, in particular, will count on the appearance of its new platform Neue Klasse, which should see the light during 2025. It will be officially presented at the upcoming electric 3rd series.

New names
This new technical base will be accompanied by numerous improvements, which include, among others, increasing autonomy thanks to new batteries. But that’s not all. Indeed, according to rumors, the Bavarian manufacturer is also preparing a completely new range for its future models. In any case, the registration of several names in Europe and the new badges speak for themselves. This new organization is to start during 2025 with Series 3 and other X3the first to rest on this platform.
What to expect?
The latter would then be renamed X320 and X330 for the thermal versions, while the electric variants will be named iX330, iX340 and iX350. We agree, it’s not necessarily obvious. This reminds us of what the manufacturer already offers, except that the engine type and model name are now combined together. It remains to be seen whether customers will approve of this new naming strategy, which may seem a bit confusing at first. You’ll have to wait to find out about the other models on the Neue Klasse platform.
