The price of fuel is still higher, while diesel fuel jumped 22 cents over the summer and continues to rise. And this despite the fact that the price of a barrel of oil is much lower than in the spring of 2022, when it exceeded the $140 mark. But then what is the reason for this increase? Well, the latter can be found on the taxation side, while taxes make up at least 60% of the price of a litre. Therefore, the solution would be to lower them, but the government categorically refuses.

Fuel check?
The latter already canceled the general discount last year, as it is expensive and not sufficiently targeted. But then what kind of compensation can the motorists who got into the throat get increase in fuel prices ? In theory, returning a check intended for the most modest households would be quite possible, since the latter are targeted and would cost less than a drop in prices for everyone. But at the moment there is radio silence on the matter from the government, which doesn’t really want to make any gestures for drivers.
Discounts?
To tell the truth, we will have to look more at distributors who could on their part set discounts for customers. Although they are opposed to unprofitable sales, they can instead offer one-off commercial transactions, as Casino or Leclerc do with fuel at cost. But for now, the situation remains unclear, and the state continues to put pressure on service stations, demanding from them further price reductions.
