Currently, Volkswagen is one of the brands that offers the most electric cars in its range. Among them are ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5, as well as ID. Buzzing, not to mention new ID.7 and the upcoming ID.2, among others. A nicely packed catalog for a German manufacturer that is currently #3 in electronics in the world. And this is even if it still remains very far behind Tesla, as well as the Chinese firm BYD. However, things are not so rosy for the company from Wolfsburg, which is experiencing numerous difficulties due to insufficient sales.

Customers are not tempted

If the numbers seem satisfactory, the German firm actually remains very far from its planned goals. Indeed, the cars currently on offer don’t seem to appeal much to motorists who prefer Tesla, among others. Not to mention numerous delays in the development of individual models, as well as the dismissal of many managers. And this inevitably has a direct impact on the health of the manufacturer, which is forced to reduce the pace of production, especially for its electric models within Emde factoryin Germany.

A difficult situation

So much so that the brand had to extend its employees’ vacation due to low demand for the ID.4. A critical situation for the brand, which will be forced to cut jobs, as the Prime Minister of Saxony explains ” we were proud of what is happening at Volkswagen in Saxony with electromobility. Now we see it: after all, it is not so successful. A large number of colleagues will no longer be able to work there, at least temporarily“. Many jobs are expected to be lost in the coming months.
