Australia were beaten by Fiji after almost 70 years, 22-15, and coach Eddie Jones was heavily booed by Wallabies fans at the World Cup in France.

Australian fans booed Eddie Jones every time he appeared on the screens at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard (St Etienne). At the end of the game, the selector admitted that the reaction of the fans was not a surprise for him.

“I’m used to it, I deserve it and I deserve worse. He could throw baguettes and croissants at me” – Eddie Jones.

Jones also responded to Sonny Bill Williams (former New Zealander) who talked about the absence of the number ten in the Australian team.

“Maybe I could become a consultant and go on TV like him, always be right? This is the team of the future and I have no regrets. I’m building a team for the future, and it’s normal to have difficulties, growing pains.

As with every match, you learn from what you did and even what you will do next week. We played badly and we need to take the positives for next week. There were options that were not successful. There’s one more week to improve” – Eddie Jones.
