The Polish Football Federation announced on Wednesday that they have parted ways with coach Fernando Santos, less than eight months after he was appointed to the technical bench.

Fernando Santos was released from the Polish national team – In December, he was released by Portugal after being kicked out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Fernando Santos has had a nightmare year.

The 68-year-old coach stopped Portugal in the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and was sacked after he also clashed with Cristiano Ronaldo.

At the beginning of 2023, more precisely in January, Fernando Santos reached an agreement with the Polish Football Federation to lead the national team, but it lasted less than 8 months.

In 2023, the Polish national team won just three matches with Santos on the bench (one of them was a friendly against Germany) and is ranked 4th in its qualifying group for the 2024 European Championship.

On Wednesday, the Polish Federation announced a break with him.
