
The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) released a brief statement on Tuesday following the ITIA announcement, through which it said four-year disqualification of Simona Halep in case of doping.
The WTA says it will support the decisions made in the Halep case
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced Tuesday that Simona Halep has been banned for four years.
“It is very important that tennis players know the rules of the anti-doping program and respect them.
An independent tribunal ruled in Simona’s case, and under the TADP that decision can be appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The WTA will support the decisions made as part of this process and will continue to closely monitor this case,” said a statement published on social media.
