French footballer Paul Pogba, who plays for Turin’s Juventus, has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for testosterone during an anti-doping control, the Italian Anti-Doping Agency (NADO) announced, as quoted by AFP.

According to the Italian media, the positive test should have been in the sample taken from the French player after the match of the first stage of the Serie A season away from Udinese to Juventus.

Juve won the match 3-0, but Pogba (30 years old) did not play in that match.

If found guilty, Pogba could face a ban of two to four years. His contract with Juve expires in June 2026.

The French international returned to Juventus in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer but played very little last season due to injuries and also missed the World Cup in Qatar for the same reason.

Last season, the midfielder did not start a single match, making only two appearances, the last in a 2-0 win against Empoli.

Last year, Paul Pogba became the target of a blackmail attempt by an organized gang, his brother Matias was among those investigated, arrested in September and released in December, according to Agerpres.
