
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on new Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and other government officials to cut red tape in the military through digitization and “restart the accounting system” for full transparency in military supplies, after former minister Oleksiy Reznikov was fired last week for corruption. scandals related to acquisitions of the Ministry of Defense, News.ro reports.

He announced that he has asked government officials to reduce bureaucracy and transparency through digitization when it comes to military procurement and field supplies.
“The special needs of our combat brigades must be met as soon as possible, and for this all records must be digitized. In general, there should be much less red tape in the military and there should be no difference between what is reported here at the center and what the guys in the field really need. Currently, the Ministry of Defense is restarting the accounting system, the Ministry of Statistics is helping,” Zelenskyi said.
He recently visited several points near the front line, where he met with Ukrainian fighters, saying he wanted to hear from them directly about what they needed.
