Edi Yordenescu and the pressure that weighs heavily on the shoulders of the tricolor: “The world has no more patience”

Despite the fact that the world has run out of patience and is dissatisfied with the performance of the national team, Iordenescu believes that the team is “on the right track” and can qualify for EURO 2024.

“We are once again facing an important moment, we are inevitably thinking about what happened two days ago. We realize that we have to rise to the level of expression. We wanted three points against Israel, we had a first half, I can’t be unhappy with the team, but in the second half we didn’t do well, we fell psychologically, lost markers and went into an open game.

We remain in second place, we will not lose, we have to believe that things have improved compared to the past. The productivity drought is oppressive, the world is no longer patient, discontent is emerging. Players, former players who have performed, make statements and reach the ears of the boys. Everything is putting pressure on their shoulders and we can’t manage the pressure properly.

The performance attracts productivity, enthusiasm, when you get used to everything more easily. I went to clubs where they performed, it was in their DNA. Everything came easily. We lost this momentum” – Edi Jordanescuquoted by News.ro.

>> Edi Yordenescu’s team, which was sharply criticized after the draw with Israel: “They trampled us, they killed us”

Edi Yordenescu: “I don’t live in my own reality, criticism should apply especially to me”

“(Does he feel criticized more than usual?) More than at the beginning of the semester? They softened, started. If we have to go through a storm, we will. I believe in work and that with work you can achieve everything.

I don’t live in my reality, I’m very connected, I’m interested in criticism, but I have to move forward. Criticism should be directed at me in particular, but they are footballers, in the public eye, and they should also get used to it” – Edi Jordanescu.

>> Israel coach, clear message after draw with Romania: ‘We played much better’

Edi Iordenescu on Romania’s game: “I’m absolutely unhappy with the expression, but we’re on the verge of qualifying.”

“We’d like to qualify with a smile on our face, but if we close it out, that’s fine too. Then we have to understand that football is a joy, but also a responsibility. I don’t like the expression at all, but we are in a qualifying place.

We are very good off the field, we are united, we are disciplined, we are all set up, everything is good. In the field, unfortunately, they are not in order. If we can solve part of the expression, we can solve the qualification equation. I would like more communication on the ground.

We need energy. We expect it to be a tougher match (against Kosovo) than Israel, they are going to play their last card. The National Arena probably won’t be full, it’s Tuesday night, late, school the next day. But no matter how many supporters come, I hope we can thank them” – Edi Jordanescu.
