Equalizer 3, the weekly box office leader, collected more than $12.1 million in its second weekend, bringing its domestic total to $61.9 million. Worldwide, the action sequel surpassed $100 million to reach $107.7 million.
Although it is impressive Nun IIwhich is the ninth chapter in the series Spell, which is currently ongoing at Warner Bros. could not equal the record set by its predecessor in 2018, Nunwhich grossed $53.8 million in its opening weekend.
The film sees Theissa Farmiga and Bonnie Aarons return as Sister Irene and the titular nun, respectively, while franchise newcomers Jonas Blocke, Storm Reid and Anna Popplewell round out the cast.
Michael Chavez, who directed The Curse of Llorona and The Conjuration: The Devil Made Me Do It, helmed the film’s camera.

Javanese, an Indian Hindi-language action film, took fourth place with $6.2 million. The film stars Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan, who plays the dual role of father and son. The film was directed by Attlee.
“Barbie,” the Warner Bros. comedy that dominated the summer box office by becoming the year’s top-grossing film in the U.S. and setting a number of other records, remains in fifth place with $5.9 million. Total domestic revenue reached $620.5 million.
