While the Smart #3 is currently enjoying its first European crowds at the Munich Motor Show, the Sino-German manufacturer is announcing the arrival of a new driver assistance system called Pilot Assist 2.0for the fourth quarter of 2023.

Leveraging the potential of R&D and working with industry-leading partners such as Mobileye, Smart will continue to elevate the brand’s technology label, providing smarter and safer urban mobility for users. »– said Mr. Yang Jun, Global Vice President of Research and Development of Smart Automobile.

Smart Pilot Assist: annual update

This new version 2.0 of the Pilot Assist system will include Smart Pilot navigation (NSP), which will allow you to take advantage of automatic turn-by-turn navigation on highways and major city roads. The car will then be able to automatically overtake, change lanes depending on traffic conditions, or even automatically enter or exit the highway, not forgetting to assist the driver in the event of a traffic jam, among many other functions.

The system will also be compatible with remote software update (OTA) that will provide users with the latest and most advanced intelligent driver assistance features that combine intelligence and safety in a simple way.

Until the end of 2024, the system will continue to develop with the arrival of a version Smart Pilot Assist 3.0which will be enriched with navigation NSP Pro, even more achieved. Smart’s goal is to release a new version of its driver assistance system every year and become a leader in ADAS technology.

Special edition as a technology demonstrator

On this occasion, Smart will introduce by the end of 2023 a technology demonstrator which will have the form a special edition models in its assortment. It will be equipped 12 cameras in general and will be based on the Smart Mobileye SuperVision system, which uses 11 cameras and a camera to monitor the driver’s attention, providing both intelligent driving and safety functions.

The “brain” of Smart Pilot Assist, the Mobileye SuperVision system is presented as one of the most advanced driver assistance systems in the world: it is based on two Mobileye EyeQ5 chips, an advanced 7 nanometer ADAS chip, and uses about twenty years of Mobileye’s experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning .

Smart is committed to providing its customers with an advanced intelligent mobility experience and will continue to work with technology partners to integrate additional ADAS systems into its vehicles.
