After a year and a half in the Wuhan Three Towns jersey, Nicolae Stanchiu decided to change leagues and signed a contract with Damac.

In March 2022, Nicolae Stanciu signed a contract with the Chinese from Wuhan Tri Town, who paid Slavia Prague 4 million euros.

In his first season with the team from Wuhan Stanqiu won the title in the Chinese Super League.

The 30-year-old Romanian player received a tempting bid from Damac in Saudi Arabia and Wuhan Three Towns sold him for €2.5 million.

At Damak, Stanciu will be coached by Cosmin Kontra and will receive an annual salary of two million euros.

“Recently, I talked with Nikolay Stanchu. He told me he wanted to come closer to home, to be as close to his family as possible. This is the main reason why he switched to Damac.
