
DNA prosecutors are conducting searches on Thursday at the offices of the Arges County Council, the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection and the Stefanesti City Hall in a case involving the purchase of housing for vulnerable people, court sources said. HotNews.ro.
In a DNA press release, it was reported that the prosecutor’s office is conducting searches at 21 addresses in Argesh – three state institutions, the headquarters of some companies and the residences of some individuals.
The investigation concerns the suspicion of corruption committed during 2023, in connection with the conclusion of public procurement contracts regarding the purchase by a communal institution of housing intended for socially vulnerable segments of the population.
Judicial sources told HotNews.ro that the searches were carried out in public institutions: Argeş County Council, Directorate General of Social Assistance and Protection of Children (DGASPC) and Štefenesti City Hall.
According to sources cited, the case pertains to rigged procurement by DGASPC. The institution would buy five houses for vulnerable groups of the population, choosing its developers, the contract value is approximately 700,000 euros.
