Police in Hunedoren have opened a criminal case against a 14-year-old teenage girl accused of placing a lit cigarette on the forehead of a 12-year-old girl, Servus Press reports. The incident happened a day after a 12-year-old girl was beaten by two other minors in the yard of a secondary school in the municipality.

The conflict between the two girls started on the basis of jealousy after the victim asked a friend of the girl who attacked her as a friend on Facebook.

“On September 6, 2023, at approximately 8:10 p.m., officers from the local police patrol arrived at the headquarters of the Hunedoara Municipal Police, who reported that on September 6, 2023, at approximately 7:40 p.m., they reported that on Lunci Street, in the municipality Hunedoara, there is a quarrel between the children. Upon arriving at the scene, the local police identified a 12-year-old minor from Hunedoara, who reported that she had a conflicted discussion with two minors, and one of them, 14 years old, from Hunedoara, touched her forehead with a lit cigarette. The local police patrol took the three minors to the headquarters of the Hunedoara Municipal Police for further investigation,” IPJ Hunedoara reported.

In the case, the police have opened criminal proceedings on the grounds of the crime of assault or other violence, investigative actions are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the act and take measures.
