Absent from the world circuit since September 2022, Osaka wants her return to productive tennis to take place in Melbourne, where she has won two of her four career Grand Slam titles.

Speaking to ESPN, Naomi, 25, said her 16-month absence from tennis has reignited her “fire” and that she wants to get back on the court.

In July of this year, Osaka became a mother, giving birth to a girl named Shai.

The last tournament in which the Japanese woman participated was Tokyo-2022, a competition from which she was eliminated in the second round (before the match with Beatrice Haddad Maya).

Osaka is currently ranked 603 in the WTA rankings and has won 7 titles in her career, 4 of which are Grand Slams (Australian Open 2019, 2021 and US Open 2018, 2020).

He rose to world number one on January 28, 2019 and has amassed $21,177,252 in tennis prize money alone. He has 265 wins and 148 losses in his career.
