CSM Constanţa qualified for the EHF European Handball League groups in dramatic fashion after defeating Spanish side Fraikin BM Granollers, 25-22 (14-10, 20-18), in a 7-meter shootout on Saturday away from home in the second leg of the preliminary round.

The team from Constanta showed an excellent result, after a weak match at home they lost with the score 27-29, so at the end of the game in Spain the score was equal, the difference was a penalty. The effectiveness of the Black Sea team is all the more that it successfully faced the finalist of last season.

CSM Constanţa dominated the match in Spain from end to end, leading by four goals at half-time, 14-10, but the second half was a knife-edge, in min. The 49ers, coached by George Bourisea, have just one more goal on the table, 18-17.

The match was refereed by Bosnians Aleksandar Jović and Nedim Arnautović, and the EGF delegate was Frenchman Thierry Botti.

CSM Constanta will play in Group H of the competition along with Sporting Lisbon (Portugal), MOL Tatabanya KK (Hungary) and KHKM Hrobry Głogów (Poland).

Dinamo Bucharest has been drawn into Group G along with Berliner Füchse trophy winners, Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc (France) and RK Izvidac (Bosnia-Herzegovina), reports Agerpres.
