Laszlo Jere raced to a 2-0 straight sets lead over Novak Djokovic but was unable to hold on to complete what could be a surprise at the 2023 US Open. The second seed won in five sets, 4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3, to advance to the round of 16 at Flushing Meadows.

Laszlo Jere, great execution against Novak Djokovic

Taking the 38th place in the world ranking, Jere in many moments was ahead of his famous rival and compatriot, and in some places his tennis was spectacular.

Laszlo was the main hit of the day at the US Open in the opening fourth set at 1-1 and 15-15.

After a Nole attack with a deep backhand, Jere produced a fantastic return that left Djokovic speechless and sent the Arthur Ashe crowd into a frenzy.
