If you have the chance to visit a gas station regularly, you’ve probably noticed how much the price of fuel has fluctuated this summer. And this, unfortunately, is not an impression, since the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel rose sharply in the period from July to August, unfortunately for motorists. And especially for those who went on the road for the holidays and whose budget was burdened because of it steep prices. Especially since, unfortunately, there is no drop yet, and the price of oil also continues to rise due to the drop in production.

not all are equal
In general, all fuels have been affected by strong inflation, even those that are normally less expensive, e.g E85 and LPG. But be careful because not everyone lives in the same boat, even the other way around. Moreover, some grew much more than others during the summer period. But which ones exactly? Well, unsurprisingly, it was diesel that saw the biggest growth this summer. Indeed, during the first week of July, a liter cost “only” 1.67 euros on average. But now, in the last week of August, no less than 1.83 euros per liter. That’s a jump of 17 cents in two months.
And gasoline?
On the unleaded side of 95, it’s not much rosier. Indeed, the latter also rose by 13 cents over the same period. But what is the cause of this outbreak? First, drop in production, due to increased demand due to school holidays. But we must not forget about taxes, which make up 60% of liters and which are obviously indexed to the price of the latter. Not to mention the war in Ukraine, which continues to affect our portfolio.
