She succeeds Mark Davies in this position, who will move to Zagreb to start his new role as regional director of the EBRD on 1 September.

In Romania, Ms. Zinchuk will lead the EBRD’s operations, support reforms and stimulate the economy through investment and consulting. To date, the EBRD has invested more than 10 billion euros in Romania.

Charlotte Rue, EBRD Managing Director for Central and South Eastern Europe, said: “We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Victoria Zinchuk as our new Director in Romania. Victoria brings enthusiasm, experience and energy to expand our operations here.”

Ms. Zinchuk has over 27 years of professional experience, including nearly 10 years in management and leadership roles at the EBRD. He has solid experience in creating and implementing investments in various sectors. She also has significant practical experience in the development and implementation of sectoral and national strategies, as well as representing the EBRD in authorities, the business environment and the media.

Ms. Zinchuk holds a master’s degree in banking and finance from Kyiv State University and the University of Birmingham.

“After five extraordinary years leading the EBRD’s operations in #Croatia, I am embarking on an exciting new professional journey. My new destination is #Romania, one of the top 10 countries where the EBRD operates, the bank has invested over €10 billion to date.

The 5 years I spent in Croatia were incredibly productive, despite the COVID pandemic, devastating earthquakes, and a devastating war in my native Ukraine. Together with my incredible team in Zagreb, we doubled the business in Croatia during this period.

The Zagreb office has become the regional hub for our Central European business, which is a clear recognition of the team’s strengths and ability to successfully manage a highly complex regional business. We’ve been hard at work providing technical support to national and local governments, as well as hundreds of local SMEs and startups. I have also contributed to many humanitarian causes, supporting Croatians in need (disabled, vulnerable women and children, the elderly), as well as Ukrainian refugees,” she wrote on LinkedIn.

I would like to thank my dear colleagues, clients from the private and public sectors, business partners, NGOs and the media for the incredible support you have provided over the past 5 years. I will miss many of you and hope to stay in touch for many years to come.
