The first set was evenly matched, with both players sharing their points and errors until the tie-break where, although she missed a set point, the Romanian prevailed 8-6.

The second set was full of twists and turns. Seag took a 2-0 lead, which was followed by a four-game winning streak for Marino, who also missed a set point.

Another tiebreak followed, this time completely under the control of the player from Romania, the score 7-1, which ended the match and went to the next round.

The game lasted two hours and 17 minutes.
