After the last leg they managed to impressively beat their rivals U Cluj, CFR Cluj secured their second consecutive victory over FC Botosani with a score of 3-1 in a game which the Moldovans finished with a numerical advantage.

ChFR Cluj – FC Botosani 3-1, in the seventh stage of the Super League

Relieved from the fatigue of the European Cups, CFR Cluj opened the game against FC Botosani and Philippe Otele opened the scoring after 21 minutes, following a pass from Cyprian Deak, his shot also hitting the crossbar before going into the net.

In the 36th minute, Andrea Mandorlini’s wards doubled their lead through the same Otele, with a beautiful shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Transylvania were awarded a penalty in the 60th minute after Deakan’s handball in the box, and Greece’s Panagiotis Tahtzidis had no trouble converting it.

Four minutes later, Eduardo Florescu reduced the gap with a free kick by Olinga, a player who was sent off in the 70th minute after a hard tackle by Camora.

CFR Cluj climbs to third position in the rankings with 13 points and one game in hand, while Botosani is in penultimate place in the Super League with just three points.
