Romelu Lukaku announced the signing of a contract with Roma

The Belgian forward is close to a new loan in Serie A after the Londoners from Chelsea and Roma reached the final details with discussions ahead of signing the deal, writes Romapress.net.

Meanwhile, Lukaku accepted the contract offered by the Italians and confirmed his departure. “Tomorrow I will fly to Rome to sign the contract,” the Belgian player announced.

Roma have secured the forward’s loan without an obligation to buy, and will pay him his full salary as well as a fee for his club Chelsea.

Despite the current options of Tammy Abraham and Paulo Dybala, Jose Mourinho believes his side need as many experienced players as possible to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League.

Roma finished 6th last season and are playing in the UEFA Europa League, but the Portuguese coach has announced that he wants more from this season.

At the age of 30, Romelu Lukaku played 97 games for Inter Milan, scoring 57 goals.
