Simona Halep has been waiting two months for the verdict of the Sport Resolutions tribunal in the doping case in which she is involved, and the ex-WTA leader sent a message to fans close to her.

Simona Halep: “I hope the day will come when I will return to the court”

In an interview with Eurosport, Halep declared that she is innocent. Simona hopes to return to the field and achieve more noticeable results “if she still can.”

“The fact that people have supported me so wonderfully has given me strength. I read all their messages, felt the warmth of their souls.

I want to thank them and assure them that I am innocent, that I have taken absolutely nothing dishonest, I have not done anything dishonest in tennis. I hope that the day will come when I will be back on the court and playing the tennis that I have played all my life with great love and passion.

  • The news that Simona Halep was temporarily suspended for doping appeared on Friday, October 21, 2022.
  • Halep is temporarily suspended from tennis after testing positive for Roxadustat (conducted during the 2022 US Open). Later, Simona was also accused of “violations” in the biological sports passport.
  • Simona’s case is now being heard by Sport Resolutions, an independent court in London that hears doping cases in white sport.
