The video recording of the crash of the plane carrying the head of the mercenaries of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Priodzhin excludes the possibility of a technical malfunction or pilot error, an aviation journalist told CNN.
A video published by one of Russia’s state news agencies, RIA Novosti, shows how a private plane with a missing wing crashed on Wednesday.
Russian authorities have now said that the investigation is ongoing, as is the operation to identify the remains of the plane, but that all 10 bodies of the passengers on board the plane have been found.
“It came down spinning and left a lot of smoke. That’s why this plane was on fire. And apparently it was missing some structural pieces, airfoils,” Miles O’Brien, a science and aerospace reporter, told CNN.
“A plane like that… it doesn’t fall catastrophically out of the sky without something extremely unusual happening. [Prăbușirea] it could have been caused by an explosion inside or outside the plane,” he also said, citing as examples the detonation of an explosive device on board the plane or being hit by a missile.
David Soucy, a former FAA safety inspector, made similar comments, noting that the plane appeared to have only one wing when it crashed.

Russian state media reported on Thursday that the remains of the plane were scattered over an area of two kilometers.
“After the free fall of the Embraer plane, its pieces were scattered over an area of 2 kilometers near the village of Kuzhenkino, where most of the remains of the fuselage were found,” the “Russia-24” TV channel reports.
“Most of the remains fell near some agricultural enterprises,” she also said.
RIA Novosti also reports that the wreckage of the plane is located near the access road to this village in the Tver region. RIA also reported that the police had set up a perimeter around the scene, and special service vehicles were nearby.
The first information circulating on Russian social media on Wednesday after the first images from the crash site appeared was that the plane fell from the sky after being hit by a Russian military anti-aircraft system. However, this information has not yet been confirmed by official sources.
