This year, the Bentley Continental GT celebrates its 20th anniversary: ​​to close the celebrations, the Crewe manufacturer presented a few days ago a unique copy of the Bentley Continental GT Speedinspired by the first production Continental GT of 2003 and manufactured by Mulliner.

Whoever inspired this project, the first Continental GT to roll off the production line by Crewe and serial number VIN20001, was exhibited alongside the 2023 version at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering as part of Monterey Car Week. On this occasion, this iconic model also celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Bentley Continental GT Speed: a tribute to its history

Ushering in the modern era of the Bentley brand when it was launched in 2003, multiplying its sales for the occasion tenfold, the Bentley Continental GT continues to set the benchmark in terms of grand luxury touring car.

The first production model, part of the extensive Bentley Heritage collection, represented a Cypress Green paintwith interior in Brown leather saddle and nut inserts. The unique new example of the 2023 Continental GT Speed ​​has a configuration that matches and is inspired by its distinguished ancestor.

There’s also saddle brown leather and walnut trim, but the new 2023 version has minor improvements: the brown ‘Saddle’ upholstery has been added contrasting medallions “Special Green”, all with matching contrast stitching. The instrument panel and door trims come in two finishes: dark open-pore walnut and high-gloss dark walnut, separated by a thin strip painted in cypress green.

The cabin also features a Naim for Bentley sound system, a Bentley tilting screen as well threshold pads to order engraved “20 Years of Continental GT by Bentley Mulliner”. Silhouettes of the Continental GT 2003 and 2023 also appeared on the instrument panel, center console, as well as the outer door sill.
