Lukashenka’s statement was made public by his press service, European Truth reports.

“Convinced that our equal approaches to such important issues as peace and tranquility, the priority of national interests, the need to protect the family and traditional values, the sincere desire to establish honest and respectful relations will continue to contribute to the development of cooperation between Belarus and Hungary, for the benefit of our citizens, our countries, our region,” the message reads.

Lukashenko wished Katalin Novak health, success and prosperity for Hungary.

St. Stephen’s Day is the main public holiday of Hungary, which is considered the day of the foundation of the Hungarian state. On this day, the first king of Hungary – István I, who was officially crowned on August 20, 1000, is commemorated.

We will remind, on August 11, Lukashenko declared that he is ready to improve relations with Poland. “We are neighbors, and neighbors are not chosen, God gives them,” said the Belarusian dictator.

In response, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that in order to improve relations, Belarus should stop hybrid attacks on the Polish border.
