FCSB beat Poli Iasi 2:1

FCSB continued their excellent run in the Romanian Super Lig and recorded their fifth consecutive win with a 2-1 win over Poli Iasi.

After being relegated from the UEFA Conference League, the team coached by Elias Charalambous managed to win at the National Arena against a newly formed team.

Ovidiu Popescu opened the score even before the end of the first half (min. 44), with a strong shot from the edge of the 16-meter box.

The score could have been tied at half-time, but the Moldovans overturned the success with a goal.

In the second half, Bordeianu tested Stefan Tirnova with a free-kick, but the red-blue goalkeeper made a great save.

Darius Olaru made it 2-0 for the Romanian runners-up after Florinel Coman’s pass in the 68th minute of the game.

The end of the match was by no means calm for the hosts. Vashvari narrowed the gap (min. 79) after beating Tirnovanu with a great shot.

Florinel Coman had a chance to dispel emotions at the end of the match, but the red-blue winger could not score in a 1:1 situation with the visitors’ goalkeeper.

The final score is 2-1 and FCSB is back on top of the standings with 15 points. On the other hand, Leo Grozavu’s team remains last in the Romanian Super League with 3 points.
