To mark the beginning Pebble Beach Automotive Weekas well as the launch of its Manufaktur program on the Mercedes-AMG SL in the United States, the German manufacturer presents Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur Big Surwhich highlights its advanced customization program.

This special edition will only be available in the US market and will be limited-time, although the number of examples has not been announced by the Stuttgart-based firm. It is now on public display at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge in Pebble Beach, California from August 17-19, 2023.

Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur: Inspired by Big Sur sunsets

As the name suggests, the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur Big Sur is inspired by the famous sunsets on the Pacific coast of the United States, with its exclusive color Manufaktur Orange Flame Metallic : this color was applied at the factory in a line dedicated to Manufaktur, while elements such as the front and rear bumpers were hand-painted to guarantee a quality finish.

On the outside, there are also contrasting design elements from the AMG Exterior Chrome Package, exclusive black brake calipers, a black soft top, and black 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels. The AMG logo adorns the front, above the grille: a first for the Mercedes-AMG SL roadster.

Inside is a Nappa Manufaktur Mystic Red/Black leather upholstery, decorated with hand-embroidered contrasting orange stitching. The standard seats with active massage feature diamond-shaped micro-perforation stitching, and there are thick floor mats with an embroidered AMG logo, Mystic Red Nappa leather trim and orange contrast stitching. The center console is decorated in Manufaktur Orange Flame Metallic paint, which matches the body, and the chrome “Manufaktur” badge emphasizes the exclusivity of this model.

V8 with a capacity of 585 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque

This Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur Big Sur is equipped extensive standard equipmentsuch as Performance Trim Line, AMG Dynamic Plus, AMG Active Ride Control Suspension, Burmester 3D Surround Sound System, AMG Light Display and Driver Assistance Package.

There is under the hood AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine strong 585 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, which is combined with the AMG Speedshift MCT 9G nine-speed automatic transmission, as well as the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. This mechanism allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 315 km/h.
