In November 2022, Mercedes-Benz and Bosch were the first in the world to receive permission to use the autopilot function smart parking and driverless at the APCOA P6 car park at Stuttgart Airport, Germany. This is the first car park in the world that offers Mercedes customers automatic car parking.
Now the new Mercedes EQE sedan is now available with this feature automated parking SAE level 4, which allows the automatic control of intelligent parking to be delegated to the car without a driver. Thanks to the Remote Parking Pack and the Mercedes Me Connect Intelligent Park Pilot service, EQE users can get out of the car independently and send it to a pre-reserved parking space using their smartphone.
Mercedes EQE: focus on automated parking
This intelligent parking pilot feature frees users from the hard work of finding and parking a parking space: parking becomes more comfortable and a real advantage in tight parking lots. .
With the help of the Mercedes Me application, the user reserves a parking space in advance and then leaves his electric sedan in a specially designated space in the parking lot. When all passengers have left, the driver initiates an automatic parking maneuver using the Mercedes Me app.
The application confirms that the infrastructure of automated car parking has taken control of the car: the driver can leave the parking lot completely calmly. Thanks to the intelligent infrastructure created by Bosch, the car automatically drives up to the reserved parking space and parks there completely autonomously. Once back at the car park, customers can collect their car using a smartphone app: it then automatically leaves its spot and then heads to the pick-up location to be picked up by its owner.
The feature will soon be available for the Mercedes EQS, S-Class and E-Class
In addition to the Mercedes EQE Sedan, this level 4 automated parking system is now also available in the Mercedes EQS Sedan and S-Class, excluding the Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach models.
The new Mercedes E-Class is also ready for level 4 valet parking as it can be pre-installed with the Intelligent Park Pilot system. Thanks to the Remote Parking Pack option and the Mercedes Me Connect Intelligent Park Pilot service, the new E-Class also has integrated technology for autonomous parking.
