Sandu Matei, a protester whose medical records were published on Facebook by Darius Valkow in 2018 as “sandilău”, announces that he will forcefully execute the former dignitary “in prison” after winning the lawsuits he brought against him. We remind you that Darius Valkov, who in 2018 was an adviser to the then PSD Prime Minister Viorica Dencile, is the first known fugitive whom the Romanian authorities managed to deliver from Italy to serve a sentence.
Sandu Matei, who sued Darius Valkov after he published his medical record on Facebook, has announced that he will take steps to have the former dignitary extradited from Italy and brought to the country on Monday forcibly executed.
“With this, I won all the civil courts, I will forcibly execute him in his new home – in prison. Seeing what this miserable sad looks like makes me even more angry to humiliate him, as he did at the height of his position as an adviser to the Prime Minister who created the agenda of the vile government. Bohdanel, I told you in 2018 that I would step on your legitimate head, today I have the most beautiful image of a civil person… come see me,” the protester wrote on Facebook, according to News.ro.
Sandel Matei sued Darius Valkov after the former dignitary published his medical card on Facebook in 2018 and called him “sandilău” in a post attached to the document. When filing the lawsuit, he told reporters he was seeking one million euros in damages.

In November 2021, the Olt Court won the protester’s case, but granted only part of his request, forcing Valtsov to pay 20,000 lei in moral damages.
“The defendant violated the plaintiff’s right to dignity. It is noted that the defendant violated the plaintiff’s right to privacy. It obliges the defendant to pay the plaintiff 20,000 lei as moral damages, of which 10,000 lei for the violation of the right to dignity and 10,000 lei for the violation of the right to privacy. Obliged the defendant to publish this decision in written and informative form on his Facebook page and in two national newspapers. Please note that the parties demanded legal costs separately”, – such a decision was issued by the Olt court.
Both Sandu Matei and Darius Valkov appealed the sentence, but in May 2022 the Court of Appeal of Craiova rejected both appeals.
Darius Valkow, then an adviser to Prime Minister Viorika Denčile, was charged with discrimination and fined 1,000 lei by the National Anti-Discrimination Council for insulting protester Sandu Matei, a member of the Resistance Movement, and publishing his medical record. This was the second time CNCD was sanctioned by Valtsov.
It will be recalled that the former minister of the SDP, Darius Vilkov, who was finally sentenced to six years in prison and fled to Italy, was brought to Romania on Monday. Vilkov is the first known fugitive that the Romanian authorities managed to remove from Italy, where Mario Iorgulescu, Alina Bica, former SRI officer Daniel Dragomir or businessman Dragos Savulescu have taken refuge to avoid prison.
