The financiers, who on Friday protested for the second day in a row, obtained a promise from the governors that there will be no cuts in the institutions of the Ministry of Finance, and received a deadline by which a normative legal act will be adopted to develop a law that will equalize official salaries to the maximum level of remuneration in the tax system, taking into account court decisions.

This was stated by the representatives of the National Alliance of Budget Trade Unions SED LEX after more than three hours of negotiations with the Minister of Finance Marcel Bolosh.

Five promises received by trade unions after blocking the country’s treasuries

  • “The Ministry of Finance undertakes that there will be no cuts at the level of its own apparatus and subordinate units, clarifying that there is no official form of transparency of decision-making, those that appear in the public space are not assumed.
  • By August 21, 2023, the Ministry of Finance will prepare a draft of a regulatory act that will equalize the size of official salaries at the marginal level of wages in the fiscal system, taking into account court decisions.
  • The Ministry of Finance will support the Government’s implementation of the financial professional family in the future law on wages.
  • A working commission will also be created from representatives of the Ministry of Finance and trade unions to work out the status of a financial employee.
  • Creation through reorganization of the existing structures of ANAF and the central apparatus of the National Institute of Taxation, which will play a role in the continuous training and improvement of employees in the field of public finance.

We will remind, on Thursday the employees of the Ministry of Finance started a spontaneous protest in the corridors of the ministry, dissatisfied with the expected fiscal measures prepared by the government to reduce budget expenses, considering that they will affect more than 22 thousand people in the country. system. According to union leaders, the measures will reduce wages by about 700 lei per worker, but also result in the loss of a number of positions and allowances.

“SED LEX” reported that 18,000 taxpayers protested across the country on Friday in solidarity with Thursday’s protest outside the Ministry of Finance.

Dissatisfaction of finance employees

According to trade unionists, the resolution prepared by the government, which they do not like, contains provisions regarding:

  • Limiting the increase of harmful conditions to 1000 lei
  • Food allowance is no longer granted to persons with a gross income of more than 10,000 lei
  • Vacation vouchers are no longer available to individuals with a gross income of more than 10,000 lei
  • Cancellation of vacancies
  • Abolition of the office and position of head
  • Personal norms: 10 executive functions for service, 20 executive functions for management, 40 executive functions for general management.

The trade unions demand the equalization of wages at the maximum level of wages and the introduction into the law on wages of the financial professional family with the corresponding salary scale.
