At least twelve people are missing after an explosion at a factory in Sergiev Posad, northeast of Moscow, the Russian Investigative Committee, which is handling the case, announced, citing AFP.

“12 people are considered missing,” said the message of the regional office of the Investigative Committee of Russia, published on Telegram.

“Investigators searched the premises of the Piro-Ross company, as a fire broke out in (their) warehouse,” the investigative commission said.

“34 people were interrogated as witnesses,” the company’s technical director was detained as a suspect, the investigative body added.

Moscow Region Governor Andriy Vorobyov said on Wednesday that investigators have ruled out the possibility of a drone attack, although the Russian capital and its region regularly become targets of such operations attributed to Ukraine.
