Osasuna finished the previous season in 7th place in La Liga and also played in the final of the Spanish Cup, thus qualifying for European competition after a 16-year absence.

Osasuna won the case with UEFA in the TAC and will play in the Conference League

Osasuna had a fantastic season and finished the LaLiga championship in seventh position.

In addition, the team from Pamplona also played in the final of the Spanish Cup, but lost to Real Madrid with a score of 2:1.

Thus, after 16 years, Osasuna won the right to play in European competitions on the field, but was expelled by UEFA for participating in match-fixing in 2013.

The club’s management declared the decision erroneous and appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which won the case of the Iberian team.

“UEFA has come to the conclusion that Osasuna is a victim of events that took place almost ten years ago. In addition, UEFA evaluated the club’s steps to clarify the situation. Therefore, UEFA believes that Osasuna can participate in the Conference League.” – says the club’s official press release.

Osasuna will now play directly in the play-offs of the third European Cup organized by UEFA and will know their opponent on August 7 when the draw takes place.

Osasuna has not played in the European Cup since the 2006-2007 season.
