
The Romanian ship was damaged by an attack by Russian forces on Monday on the Ukrainian port of Reni, located just a few kilometers from Galați. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania states that the ship suffered minor damage and continued to move, and Romanian citizens were not injured during the attack on Ukrainian ports on the Danube.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said on Tuesday that, through representatives of the Consulate General of Romania in Odesa, which is temporarily operating at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it reported information about the incident involving a Romanian ship in the port of Reni in Ukraine on Monday morning.
According to preliminary information received by the representatives of the consular institution from the Ukrainian authorities, the ship suffered minor damage and continued to move.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that Romanian citizens were not injured as a result of shelling of Ukrainian ports on the Danube.
Russian attacks on ports on the Danube, on the border with Romania
Russia attacked the Ukrainian port of Reni, located on the Danube, on the border with Romania, just a few kilometers from Galati. Images on social media showed a series of explosions at the port of Reni, as well as anti-aircraft guns firing at kamikaze drones.

“Last night, Russian troops continued to terrorize Odesa region, carrying out an almost four-hour bombardment of Shahed-136 kamikaze drones on the port infrastructure on the Danube,” the Southern Operational Command of Ukraine reported, reports Ukrinform.
According to the Ukrainians, at least three drones were shot down by anti-aircraft defenses, but one more reportedly managed to get past the defenses and hit a grain warehouse.
The Russians also attacked the Ukrainian port of Izmail.

The head of the administration of the port city of Izmail, Rodion Abashev, confirmed on Facebook the missile attack carried out by Russia last night. The Ukrainian government official urged residents not to ignore reports of airstrikes.
“Dear residents of Izmail district! That night, the enemy launched an almost 4-hour attack on the port infrastructure of the Danube from Shahed-136 drones, three of which were destroyed by our air defense forces.
As a result of the night shelling, six people were injured (four wounded were hospitalized, one of them was in a condition of moderate severity, closer to severe, three – with light shrapnel wounds and body bruises).
