Labor Minister Simona Bucura Oprescu explained that she had “run into the flesh” in the horror asylum scandal and would continue to do so if necessary. The minister says that he will prepare a new law on social assistance by August 31, writes News.ro.
“We have cut out the meat, and if we find irregularities, we will continue to do so, but with great care. The first is that every time we put the interest of the person first, I mean the beneficiary, the elderly. Secondly, in all this madness, let’s not lose sight of the fact that there are also places where – people from ANPIS told me today, they were here, in a hostel, in Bucharest – good practice, but real reform comes from the other side. This is due to the fact that, at the request of Prime Minister Çolaku, we will prepare a new law on social assistance by August 31, which aims to develop new standards that aim to ensure that both accreditation and licensing can only be done through on-site visits, with on-site visits, and we no longer have temporary licenses,” Simona Bucura Oprescu told Digi24 on Monday night about the asylum scandal.
When asked if there will be more layoffs, Bukura Oprescu replied that there have already been layoffs in ANPIS and, if necessary, there will be others.
“Yes, the Social Inspection had to conduct inspections among institutions managed by the Ministry of Labor. This is the structure of ANPIS, there have already been layoffs in ANPIS; if so, we will continue. We accurately assess each situation and depending on the results we have, we are uncompromising with those who used people’s needs, people’s needs for enrichment,” added the Minister of Labor.
