Several years have passed since the creation of the bonus/malus ecological system. Initially, the latter was quite generous, as it also included low-emission petrol models as well as plug-in hybrids, which were eligible for a small boost from the government. But over the years, everything has definitely changed a lot, and the last one screwed up the nuts. The goal? Obviously, you can save a lot while still encouraging motorists to buy 100% electric cars. Today, the conditions are even stricter, since the bonus is calculated only for cars up to 47,000 euros and hybrids are excluded.

A new rule
But this is not the end, because the government wants to go further in the next few years. The latter really wants to prioritize the interests of France as well as Europe from now on. How will this be reflected in practice? Well, maybe all EVs assembled outside the Old Continent are excluded from the green bonus scheme. Therefore, it will affect many models, including the Dacia Spring Example. The electric city car is indeed made in China, but still benefits from a small €5,000 price hike, which takes it below the €20,000 mark.
Not only Dacia
Thus, the city car may lose a valuable asset, but it will not be the only one. Indeed, this may also be the case with Tesla Model 3, is currently being assembled in China as well as the United States. The Model Y, on the other hand, is truly home-made. The MG4, which is also a hit, could be affected, although the SAIC group plans to build plants in Europe. Thus, the compact can keep its bonus for many years. But at the moment the modalities have yet to be determined.
