It’s been a while since Tesla superchargers appeared. And not for nothing, the first appeared in 2012, at the same time as the Model S. Since then, the network has expanded significantly, to the point that there are more 35,000 terminals in Europe and over 100,000 worldwide. But the manufacturer is obviously not going to stop there, as it continues to develop this solution for ultra-fast charging. It is now available to all manufacturers, provided their EVs are explicitly compatible. This applies to the majority, especially in Europe.

New generation
For several months now, the American manufacturer has been suggesting that a new generation called V4 is being prepared. The first one was already installed in the Netherlands a little earlier this year, even if the firm has not yet officially announced this new version. But now we already know some of its features, which we will detail German site Tesla Mag. Among the features that should be appreciated the most, we note, for example, what looks like a credit card reader. Thus, it will no longer be necessary to subscribe to a specific subscription to use the terminal.

But that’s not all. Because they also say that the power of these terminals will increase when it should exceed the mark of 350 kW. We remind you that it is now maximum power 250 kW, which is now quite low compared to competitors. The noise in the corridor also explains that these terminals are equipped with a battery that can store electricity generated by solar panels. This allows you to be less dependent on the global network and therefore show a more reasonable price. We should know more a little later.
