The match between Shuai Zhang and Amarisa Toth became the scandalous summer of the WTA tournament, and the organizers of the tournament in Budapest commented on the situation in a post on Facebook.
>> WTA players react after Amarissa Toth makes Shuai Zhang cry in Budapest
Already upset after an argument with the chair umpire following a controversial decision, Shuai (the No. 2 seed) conceded when Toth (548 WTA) kicked a mark and did not want to continue the match. The crowd booed the Chinese woman and Amarissa (who received the wild card) celebrated by raising her arms.
Having described the situation in a post on the official page of the competition, the organizers sided with the Hungarian athlete and attacked representatives of the Chinese team Zhang (45 WTA).
“Amarissa did not decide whether the ball was good or not. It was the line judge’s decision and then the referee’s decision.
The Hungarian tennis player, playing her first WTA main draw match, may not have handled all situations well, but she didn’t do anything that could be described as a lack of integrity.
And there is no deviation, no misunderstanding. The Chinese are manipulating the world with the help of a manipulative video,” wrote the organizers of the WTA 250 tournament in Budapest.
Comment on Toth/Zhang from the Hungarian Grand Prix Facebook account. It should not be in the tournament account under any circumstances. Players should be careful playing this tournament in the future. pic.twitter.com/jXIc0xsV6D
