
The Astra International Documentary Film Festival in Sibiu is opening a volunteer program for the 30th edition, which will take place from October 15 to 22, 2023. Young people from all over the country who know foreign languages (knowledge of English is mandatory), responsible, motivated, creative and communicative. They can submit applications until September 17 in such departments as info point, guest, public speaking, logistics, locations and projection spaces, industry, photo-video, subtitling, technical, crisis cell and office.
The AFF volunteer program is part of Astra Film Festival’s mission to promote media and film education for children and youth in Romania.
Those who want to volunteer for the anniversary edition of the Astra Film Festival (AFF 30) can apply on the festival website https://www.astrafilm.ro/news/voluntari-2023 by filling out the application form. At the end of the program, they will receive a volunteer diploma that they can add to their resume and use as a reference for future opportunities.
Astra Film volunteers must be young people, ready to work in a team, open to learning new things and coping with unpredictable situations. The AFF volunteer experience contributes to the development of communication skills, the rapid search for solutions in unforeseen situations, the development of specific skills for organizing a cultural event, and the enrichment of cinematographic knowledge. Astra Film volunteers will be part of the main festival team, will maintain direct contact with guests, cinematographers and directors and will have access to AFF30 events (film screenings, concerts, exhibitions, parties).
The 30th edition of the longest film festival in Romania will take place on October 15-22, 2023 in Sibiu. Films selected in the official AFF 30 program will compete in four competition sections (Emerging Voices of Documental, Central and Eastern Europe, Romania and DocSchool). In addition to competitive sections, the official program also includes non-competitive sections, curated selections, thematic sections and special programs.
Launched in 1993 as an innovative project in Central and Eastern Europe, the Astra Film Festival is held under the high patronage of the President of Romania and organized by Astra Film, CNM Astra and the Astra Film Foundation with the support of the Sibiu County Council. , the Ministry of Culture, the National Center of Cinematography, the Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sibiu and the Union of Cinematographers. The event is co-financed by the City Council of Sibiu through the City Hall of Sibiu and the European Union through the Creative Europe program.
