Two requests of the UDR to hear the guilty in the cases of asylums of horrors were rejected in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies.
The Senate Permanent Office rejected on Monday USR’s request that the Commission on Human Rights work and hear those responsible for the dramatic situation in nursing homes in July.
USR also appealed to MP Emanuel Unguryan to allow the committees on human rights, labor and health protection in the Chamber of Deputies to work so that the truth about the terrible shelters would come to light.
“The response of the PSD-PNL coalition came in the voice of Florian Bodog, PSD senator and former health minister: ‘please ignore,'” USR said in a press release.
“Thanks to the adopted position PSD, PNL and UDMR are creating a shield around the real culprits of what happened in the houses of horrors in Voluntar. Voluntari is a city headed by a former PSD mayor, the Ministry of Family Affairs is headed by a PSD minister, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection is headed by a PSD minister, the Monitoring Council of the United Nations Convention on the Protection of Persons with Disabilities is headed by a former PSD senator, the president of the St. Gavriila Khorobrogo is a former leader of the PSD youth organization in Ilfov, and the president CJ Ilfov is a member of the PNL. Has anyone been fired? No! Has the People’s Advocate been notified? No!” said Anka Dragu, USR Senator, President of the Human Rights Commission in the Senate.
