Health Minister Alexandru Rafila explained that health inspectors inspected homes where elderly people were abused, but they did not find any problems there, although “hygienic and sanitary conditions are to some extent related to the way care is provided according to these persons”. The minister says that on Monday he will discuss the reasons why Ilfov’s Directorate of Public Health (DSP) “did not react in any way” to what happened in the homes where the elderly were abused, News.ro reports.
- “The State Sanitary Inspection – we asked for a report aimed at the Ilfov county, because there were problems there now – these centers were checked during this year, they found nothing. I will call the director of the Ilfov Health Department tomorrow to discuss these things. The State Sanitary Inspection deals only with the hygienic and sanitary conditions that must be created for these patients, or, I ask you, in other types of institutions, so that the sanitary inspection not only enters such homes, but nevertheless the hygienic and sanitary conditions to a certain extent “related to the way of providing assistance to these people, because you cannot have such dramatic conditions as those that were presented, and after control it turns out that everything is perfect,” said Alexandru Rafila on Sunday evening, on the B1 TV channel
He said that on Monday he will discuss with the management of DSP Ilfov the reasons why no one found any violations during the inspections made in these dormitories.
- “That’s why I want it… I looked at the report, on Friday I asked for and was sent a report from the Ilfov County Health Department. I want to discuss with the director tomorrow and see what decisions were made and why this situation arose and the health authorities of Ilfov county did not react in any way and now we find that things that were obviously deeply flawed in the control reports , – and they also appear to other authorities that were there, they look very good – I don’t think they were true,” added Rafila.
He emphasized that such centers need not only control, but also evaluation, on the basis of which appropriate measures can be taken.
It will be recalled that Prime Minister Marcel Cholaku announced on Sunday, after a meeting with ministers on the topic of terrible shelters, about checks in all social centers and a re-analysis of their powers.
