Ana Bohdan spent her dream day at the London All England Club complex: after qualifying for the third round of Wimbledon, the Romanian met the legendary skier Lindsey Vonn.

Ana (57 WTA) posted a photo on Instagram and said that Vonn was a source of inspiration for her during difficult moments in her career.

“Pinch me now! I still can’t believe it! You are my idol and watching you compete, win, break records and recover from injuries taught me how strong and determined you were every time. I am extremely grateful that we finally met.

You are my inspiration and the reason why I always find the strength to come back. Whether it was dealing with trauma, anxiety or depression. Thank you for so many things I have learned from you and for being a wonderful person” – Ana Bohdan on Instagram.

The American’s career was overshadowed by injuries, but it will remain in the history of alpine skiing with the results achieved: 3 Olympic medals (one gold), 8 World Championships (2 gold) and 82 victories in the World Cup. Four-time crystal ball winner Lindsey retired in 2019.

• Bohdan will fight with Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko (60 WTA) to reach the 1/8 finals. The match will take place on Friday, around 15:30 (Romanian time).

• By qualifying for the third round, Ana received a prize of £131,000 and 130 WTA ranking points.

• Thanks to the course at Wimbledon, Ana rose to 47th place in the WTA Live ranking.

• Ana showed her best result at Grand Slam tournaments. Our athlete also reached the third round at the Australian Open (2018) and Roland Garros (2021).
