Karolina Pliskova reached the Wimbledon final two years ago, but the former world number one failed to live up to her favorite status against Natalia Stevanovic and crashed out of this year’s Grand Slam in the first round.

Stevanovic, who is ranked 225th in the WTA rankings, has already won four times at Wimbledon 2023 (she needed to qualify).

Natalia needed just 65 minutes to defeat Carolina (the 18th seed), 6-2, 6-3.

The athlete from Serbia will beat Tamara Korpatsch (122 WTA, lucky loser) in the second round, after the athlete from Germany passed Carol Zhao (166 WTA).
