Ukraine opened the 2023 European Championship by qualifying from second place in Romania’s group and eliminating France in the quarterfinals.

Although they opened the scoring in the semi-finals through Bondarenko in the 13th minute, the Ukrainians got a football lesson from the Iberians. In the 17th minute, Ruiz, and after seven minutes Sanse changed the score.

In the second half, Blanco (54), Oroz (68) and Sergio Gomez (78) ensured a convincing victory for the Spaniards, who confidently go to the final act.

Spain have won five U21 European Championship trophies, the most recent being in 2019. The Iberians also lost three finals.
