The Ministry of Education mistakenly published the hierarchy of entrants to senior schools, setting the average graduation score as the criterion for dividing V-VIII grades, and not the Romanian language and mathematics, reports Edupedu.ro. It has since been removed from the site, and Secretary of State Florian Lixandrou said access to the hierarchy would be blocked until the checks were completed.

Florin Lixandrou told Edupedu.ro that the hierarchy, which appeared on Tuesday on the website http://admitere.edu.ro/, does not meet the defining criteria provided by law, which was brought to the attention of all students and all parents who lived hours of uncertainty after the Ministry of Education delivered an improperly organized environment.

  • “I contacted those responsible for the application to check once again whether the order of the junction criteria was followed. Access to the hierarchy will be blocked until the checks are complete. The publication deadline is July 5,” Florian Lixandru told Edupedu.ro.

For the first time, the national assessment average is equal to 100% of the high school entrance average, no longer counting the high school average.

Grade point average V-VIII, subtracted from the calculation of the average entry into high school

Grades V-VIII GPA is subtracted from high school GPA calculations, so graduate rankings will be based solely on national assessment GPA beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.

Until now, the average entrance score, on the basis of which 9th grade graduates of secondary schools were enrolled, was calculated as a weighted average between the overall average score on the national assessment, made by 8th grade graduates, which had a weight of 80%, and the overall graduation score of 5 -8th grade, which had a weight of 20% in the calculation of the average entrance score.

Below are the solution criteria:

If two applicants have the same admission average, they will be allocated according to the following criteria:

a) the grade obtained in the Romanian language and literature exam during the national assessment;

b) the grade received in the external examination in mathematics within the framework of the external examination;

c) the grade received in the native language test within the framework of the national assessment, respectively, the grade from the native language test, confirmed in accordance with the provisions of Art. 10 Methods of organizing and conducting admission to public secondary education for the 2011-2012 academic year, approved by the order of the Minister of Education and Science, Youth and Sports No. 4.802/2010 regarding the organization and conduct of admission to public secondary education for the 2011-2012 academic year of candidates who apply for enrollment in educational institutions with instruction in the language of national minorities;

d) general release of grades 5-8.
