Olena Rybakina, last year’s champion, reached the second round of the Wimbledon tournament.

The WTA No. 3 player defeated American Shelby Rogers (WTA No. 49) in the first round after a match that ended in one hour and 45 minutes.

Rybakina lost the first set 6–4, but managed to recover and qualify for the next stage of the tournament.

In the second round, Olena Rybakina will play the winner of the duel between Nao Hibino (127 WTA) and Alize Cornet (74 WTA).
