Landings and takeoffs at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport were restricted Tuesday morning “for technical reasons beyond the airport’s control,” said Rosaviatsia, Russia’s federal air transport agency.
The restrictions were in effect until 8 a.m. local time, the agency said. They added that several flights were diverted to other airports.
The agency also said that other Moscow airports are operating normally.
Whether the changes are related to the interception of several drones early Tuesday near Moscow is unknown.
The TASS agency also reported on the intercepted drone in the Kaluga region.
