Simona Halep dropped to 54th place in the WTA ranking

At the moment, Simona is only 1000 points (54th place) that she scored last year in Toronto. Halep is unlikely to be able to compete in this year’s edition, so she will disappear from the world rankings after the Canadian Open (August 4-13).

The only Romanian in the WTA Top 300 to rise in the rankings is Ana Bohdan, who was eliminated in the round of 16 in Eastbourne (after she got past Sorana Kirstia in the first round).

Know:

• The news that Simona Halep was temporarily suspended for doping appeared on Friday, October 21, 2022.

• Simona Halep is temporarily suspended from tennis due to a positive test for Roxadustat (conducted during the US Open 2022).

• Simona’s case is being heard by Sport Resolutions, an independent tribunal in London that hears doping cases in white sport.

• However, if innocence cannot be proven, Simona has one more appeal: the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.

• It will be recalled that the maximum suspension that Halep could receive is 4 years.
