Monica and Eri were defeated by Lidia Morozova/Ingrid Gamarra Martins (Belarus/Brazil), 6-0, 7-6(3). The match lasted one hour and 26 minutes.

The final started on Saturday, but was interrupted when Lydia and Ingrid were leading 3-0 and 40-30 in the first set due to rain.

For the trip from Bad Homburg, Niculescu and Hozumi received a check for $6,090 and 180 points in the WTA doubles ranking.

To her credit, Monica Niculescu has 32 WTA finals in doubles, but won only 10 (the last in 2021 in Nur-Sultan together with Anna-Lena Frids).
