Electric holidays: these departments run to avoid the galleys! News from Auto Plus in your smartphone News from Auto Plus in your mailbox

THE electric cars discovered new limitations for daily use: exercise. The gas station was finished in five minutes, the search for a gas station was replaced by a search charging stations and terminals. Although their development in France takes a long time, the numbers are progressing and at the beginning of May a symbolic milestone of 100,000 terminals was set! The government aims to a the goal is to deploy 400,000 public terminals in France by 2030 !

There are currently 148 charging stations per 100,000 inhabitants in France. In particular, 69% of terminals are located in shops and parking lots, 26% on roads and 4% in enterprises. But with the holidays approaching, What about terminals available in French accommodation, hotels, lodges, hotels, etc.? ? If you plan to drive an electric car this summer, are there any preferred regions and departmentsand others to avoid?

Charging worries

Yes, according to studies of the Monta firm, which has partnered with YouGov to analyze the distribution of charging stations in France. Out of 6,167 potential and current owners of electric cars questioned 53% say they are considering renting it or using it for a vacation trip. 44% of them even say that they are ready to travel abroad in an electric car. When asked about the use of charging stations in the last six months, 28% say they have fallen victim to a faulty charging station. 18% admit that they cannot finish charging due to malfunction.

Concerns about the terminals seem relatively measured. 22% of owners say no are not sure that they will find a sufficiently dense network of charging stations during the trip, and 21% are also afraid of downloading multiple apps to access them. This begs the question: where in France do we find the most (and the least) a hosting solution with charging stations?

Discrepancies by department

The results are very different. Monta studied the share of tourist accommodations that offer this offer to their customers by regions and departments. Let’s start with the regions. It the Burgundy-Franche-Comté and Grand Orient regions that offer the most. They are comparable at the level of 5.8%, respectively 331 and 459 charging stations. Then follow through Corsica (5.5%) and The center is the Loire Valley (5.2%). On the contrary and at the bottom of the podium (except for DROM-COM), it is Peys de la Loire, who are dead last (3%). Then follow Island of France (3.1%) and Brittany (3.2%).

The conclusion is confirmed at the local level, department by department. Côte d’Or is in first place with 7.8%. He follows her Lower Rhine (7.7%), Upper Rhine (6.7%). Ron (6.6%) and Loire and Cher (6.5%). And vice versa, Cantal is dead last (2%). Things are not much better in the Hautes-Alpes, Savoy, Vendée and Landes. Please note that this rating only takes into account charging station placement. This does not mean that these are the departments with the most or the least number of charging stations!
